THE FACE OF "THE TENT OF PROMISE"
MAY HAVE CHANGED...
BUT OUR HEART FOR THE WORLD AND THE LOST HASN'T!
The PFCCI Network in East Africa was birthed in 2004. Pastor John Paul Musoke (Uganda) visited the Australian mission team in Kenya after seeing the Tent of Promise website. A visit to Uganda and Pastor John Paul’s church followed. Pastor John Andoh in West Africa and Pastor John Paul Musoke in East Africa, both simultaneously moved their ministries and placed themselves with Pastor Barry and became Promise Faith Centre Churches.
2005 saw an immediate expansion and growth of the PFCCI Church Network in East Africa and the call to the care of orphans and widows in distress. 2007 saw the commencement of two AusAid approved humanitarian aid and development projects which we call the Promise Obtainers Projects Africa (POPA). The two projects constitute a widows’ refuge, Jabulani House, providing crisis accommodation and skills training to over 60 widows and children in the last 3 years. The second project, Children of Hope primary schools included 4 school campuses providing education and support for over 500 children. See the POPA webpage for information on you can be involved.
In 2009, the Church ministry was able to plant four churches and hold six conferences, three Crusades, Seminars, and Bible Schools. In three open-air public crusades about 1000 people gave their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. Evangelism has been done in the local churches and many people turned to the Lord in Door to Door Evangelism, Prison & Hospital ministry etc.
Now in 2015, the PFCCI Network East Africa consists of 32 Promise Faith Centre Churches (PFC) in Uganda, 18 PFC churches in Tanzania, 3 PFC churches in Congo, 2 PFC churches in Rwanda, 1 PFC church in Kenya and Bethlehem Community Centre Nairobi, and 1 PFC church in Burundi. The Promise Faith Centre Church Network in East Africa are a people on a mission; it’s our prayer that the whole earth is filled with the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ps Barry and Ps Sandra Cunnington first visited Ghana in 2003 to speak to a small pastor’s network in the capital Accra, which was led by Ps John Kweku Andoh. In 2004 the PFCCI Network in West Africa was birthed. There was an immediate impartation of faith to believe and receive the promises of God (see our message Promise Obtainers Glorifying God). Recognising the call and grace on the PFC ministry Pastor John Andoh decided to submit his work to the PFC Australia oversight and change the name of his church to "Promise Faith Centre".
In 2005 there was an immediate expansion and growth of the PFCCI Church Network. As well, the 2005 Mission trip to West and East Africa birthed the call to the care of orphans and widows; the ministry of Freedom House includes an outreach to widows and orphans in the village of Dhoryumu. This is an AusAid approved project in partnership with PFC Australia and Global Development Group Brisbane.
